Cotswold Tuk Tuk Tours November Blog

Well the season seems to have finally officially finished with the last trip out being on the 11th November and boy was it a chilly finish to the season. The end of October and early November turned out to be the busiest period of the year with the Tuk out four weekends in a row. The blankets have really come in handy and the last customers even brought their own hand warmers which they used in-between sitting in front of roaring log fires in their many pub visits!

It’s been more fun than I could have ever imagined and has been a fantastic learning curve. What’s very pleasing for me is that the level of service I set out to give has been achieved in not only my mind but most importantly by my customers’ feedback. Most groups have reviewed their experience of the day on Trip Advisor and those reviews give me the confidence that I’m on target for running a successful business venture.

Rick is now undergoing a deep winter clean and I am looking at the options of refurbishing the seats and improving the rain/wind covers so we can potentially run through the autumn/winter 2018 season.

What I have learnt is that advertising doesn’t need to break the bank as many of my enquiries are now coming from Trip Advisor or from the flyers that I hand delivered earlier in the season. So in preparation for the 2018 season which will be advertised to start 1st March there will be slight modifications to the current tours and also some brand new ones introduced. However 9/10 tours have been bespoke ones and so the advertised tours are really just a guide to give people a feel and price for what’s involved. The target is to have all amendments on the website by 1st January 2018 and have flyers delivered to many local B&B’s, hotels and pubs in February ready for the 2018 season.

Bookings have already been and are being taken already for 2018 with some tours already in the diary and some keen interest for wedding hire so if you are thinking of booking don’t leave it too late as I genuinely believe that based on last year 2018 promises to be a very busy season.

With weddings more people now seem to be getting married in a nearby chapel and having a reception close by. The tuk can be a great way to add a bit of extra interest after the ceremony and shuttle guests to the reception venue. Our first wedding of the season had this arrangement and the children at the wedding loved seeing the tuk, and it caused much amazement with the adults too! We have two similar weddings planned for the 2018 season.

Another big thing for me is that I always want to feel that I have offered value for money and this is a policy that I guarantee will continue.

Don’t forget it’s not too late to get a gift voucher for one of the Afternoon Tea Tours or a voucher for one of the full day tours. Get one of these, a link to the Trip Advisor reviews and I’m sure that person will be very very pleased. What a fantastic Christmas present for your secret Santa and it will be valid for the whole of 2018.

More and more people seem to wave now so just another reminder to keep waving or beeping when you see us!

Chris
