Tours of the Cotswolds

Experience one of our ultimate tours as it should be...in the open air

Our full day signature tours of the Cotswolds which will take your breath away and leave you with lasting memories of the beautiful surrounds of this charming region. Instead of the all-inclusive package we offered last year, both this year come as a basic package with a list of options to make sure that the whole day is tailored exactly to your parties’ requirements. Both can start from your chosen pick up point**

Tour route 1 now encompasses -

  • As a first stop, a pair of charming villages. First Lower Slaughter where you disembark the Tuk for your first opportunity to taste the Cotswolds and view the 14th century mill where the River Eye meanders past, then onto Upper Slaughter

  • Next we’ll take the very scenic route through Sherborne, Windrush and onto one of my favourite villages, Little Barrington. After taking a small stop here it’s back on board through the Oxfordshire border and through another unspoilt village Taynton, as we head towards Burford.  Here, at the gateway to the Cotswolds, you will have another stop to see some of the many local attractions / buildings - you could tackle Burford hill and take in the great views over towards Westhall Hill and the neighbouring village of Fulbrook, or just browse the many gift and antique shops. For those history buffs stop by St John the Baptist Church dating back to the 12th century

  • Then we will take the road from Fulbrook over the Windrush valley and it’s here that you will disembark the Tuk and get your walking boots out (following the impossible to get lost map provided), you will walk just short of a mile through the beautiful valley and arrive at the most beautifully quaint small church of St Oswald’s in the hamlet of Widford. The other option if you don’t fancy the walk is a swift half at The Swan at Swinbrook, or your party may want to split here and do their own thing or indeed you may want to do both, the choice is yours

  • Afterwards back on board the Tuk we meander along through some of the lesser known routes across the Oxfordshire / Gloucestershire border to Eastleach for a walk round this beautiful small village

  • Then just when you think you’ve seen it all, it’s off to Bibury, once described by William Morris as "the most beautiful village in England". Bibury, famous for Arlington Row, may look familiar from chocolate boxes and postcards

  • Finally we hop back on board and we head to the little Venice of the Cotswolds, Bourton on the Water. Here during the quieter part of the day you can peruse this delightful village and you may want to enjoy a good old English Fish & Chip tea on the village green before heading back to your original pick up point

Tour route 2 now encompasses -

  • To start a scenic tour through beautiful countryside taking a short stop in the beautiful little hamlet of Icomb before moving onto to the charming town of Stow on the Wold

  • From here we head back through the market town of Moreton in Marsh and carry on towards our next stop another market town Chipping Campden with its beautiful terraced high street and iconic Market Hall which was built in 1627

  • We proceed through to Broadway Tower which on a clear day has outstanding views of up to 16 counties and where you can often spot red deer

  • The next stop is the quintessential village of Snowshill which features on many Cotswold postcards, and is a personal favourite of mine

  • Then we head down the hill into the village of Broadway in Worcestershire, which has many houses and shops lining this ancient quaint ridgeway

  • It’s here that we then venture to the beautiful village on Stanton where again the honey colour limestone makes this such a beautiful place for taking pictures

  • We head towards a pair of charming villages, Upper and Lower Slaughter. Here we disembark the Tuk and view the 14th century mill where the River Eye meanders past

  • Finally we hop back on board and we head to the little Venice of the Cotswolds, Bourton on the Water. Here during the quieter part of the day you can peruse this delightful village and you may want to enjoy a good old English Fish & Chip tea on the village green before heading back to your original pick up point

Both tours are only suggested routes and I’m happy to tailor either to fit in with your requirements or we can make up a bespoke tour to your exact requirements. I want your tour to be special and unique in every way and this gives you the opportunity to hand pick what’s best for you and your party.

If you like you can bring your own picnic lunch as there are any number of hundreds of beautiful places to stop or if you would prefer I can send you an attachment with options that you may want to add onto your tour -

  • Pub lunch

  • Stops for a quick beer

  • Fish & Chip options

  • Afternoon Tea options

  • Climb Broadway Tower

  • Snowshill Lavender (subject to season)

After this I can give you more detailed timings and schedule for the day.

We highly recommend these tours for those who want to see a lot in one day, and get an insider’s view of the Cotswolds by travelling on some of the prettiest scenic routes in this unique mode of transport, and would like a flexible driver to guide them around the must-do experiences!

Alternatively you may want to venture out on the Tuk for two days on your break in the Cotswolds and enjoy both routes - you can do two days together or space them over your stay in the Cotswolds. This will also come with a discounted rate.
